How can you merge elements of your favorite things into a single design? That was my challenge when faced with this graduate level packaging concept design. I am a big Harry Potter fan, and loved to have the opportunity to design beverage packaging based on the franchise. The challenge was to do it right, well, and beautifully.
Branding
During a semester at Harrington, I was given the opportunity to focus part of my semester on developing the concepts behind these three Harry Potter themed beverage designs. I decided to pursue a persona, Luna Lovegood, and two memorable icons of the franchise, the golden snitch and the marauder's map. Iterations of sketch work was performed, then brought digitally for further refining until the end result, three beautiful can concepts.
Inspiration for these beverage packaging designs came straight from elements of the Harry Potter franchise, it's art, character personality, and technical illustrative styling. To see more of the process, view the pdf in the link below.
Once the sketch work was finalized, the art was applied to can mockups to embody a fully-realized 360 degree view of each beverage can concept.
