Our Approach
Starting with over 100 distinct phrases that we each came up with, our lists were narrowed down to just two phrases of our own choosing. We then iterated concepts for four categories of poster campaigns: 1) text only; 2) graphic-only; 3) text poster with graphic poster overlay and no alterations; and 4) text poster with graphic poster overlay and limited alterations. The result was a solid set of poster designs related to the topics we narrowed down at the middle of our process.
Sketchwork
Once the phrases I chose were finalized, I began to draw endless amounts of doodles and refined sketches that related to the keywords in each phrase. The images below are examples of sketch work and color palette pairings.
Poster Art
The final art for this 15-week project are a combination of the two final messages in both typographical and visual formats.

The Challenge
During a semester of my graduate studies at Harrington College of Design, I attended a course focusing on Designing for Social Awareness. We were charged with creating the messaging, imagery and art for a series of poster designs.
